Maynooth Harvest Festival

The Maynooth Harvest Festival is a four day event which brings together community, voluntary, business, education and artistic groups within the Town and University.

The free activities include music song, dance, art events, quizzes, family fun events, visits to university and its libraries, poetry and prose readings, historical walks, dog shows, nature walks, craft and food fairs. Community launches and online exhibitions also feature. 

The events take place in various venues around the town - the Square and Street , Geraldine Castle, Maynooth University, St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Church of Ireland, Community Space, Boys' National School, Community Library, the recently restored Pound and its adjoining park and local shopping centres. 

Those taking part and supporting the event include Maynooth History Group, NUI Maynooth University, St. Patrick's College, Castle Keep Art Group, Musical Society , U3A Group, local musicians (traditional, rock and jazz), the Maynooth Brass and Reed Band, Scouts, Tidy Towns, local dance schools, businesses, hotels and restaurants, and many more, too numerous to mention. 

Maynooth Community Council welcomes representatives from its twinned partner, Canet-en-Rousillion, for the first time, to the festival since the partnership was formalised in 2011.
