This year’s parade will begin at Killane at 2.30pm. It will follow the same route as last year’s and finish at the Dublin road, at Mangan’s Petrol Station. Last year was a phenomenal success and we hope that although it is a big ask, this year will be bigger and better.

We have three Marching bands this year to add to the huge amount of colourful floats and groups that are already entered and the Irish Army will again be in attendance.

Last Year, we were extremely lucky to have Adrian Brereton to act as Our Parade’s Grand Marshall. Adrian did an excellent job and we thank him once again for helping us make last Year’s parade as successful as it was. While we all know Adrian will be a huge act to follow, we feel that our Grand Marshall for this year will do equally as good a job.

The theme for this year’s parade is Music and Colour and with that in mind, the Committee have asked Greg” ELVIS” Traynor to be Grand Marshall for 2013. We are thrilled to announce that Greg has agreed to our request and will entertain the huge crowds on the streets of Edenderry on St. Patrick’s Day.

Our office and viewing stand were across from Brady’s supermarket last year; we would like to thank Joe O’Connell for the use of his premises and Michael O’ Kelly for his help. This year our Office will be next to Mary and Marie Fashions (formerly Classy Clogs) and we also will have our viewing stand here. Huge thanks to Marie and John Foley for their co-operation in making this happen.

Last Year we had the England – Ireland Rugby match to look forward to, after the parade. This year we have arranged to bring it closer to home and we will cheer on our neighbours, Kilcormac-Killoughy, in the All-Ireland Club final, immediately after the events on the street.

We know that there are plenty of floats already being manufactured in Carbury, Edenderry, Rhode, and Clonbullogue and throughout the surrounding parishes. We appreciate the huge effort that is spent on making these floats. That was very apparent last year and this year will be no different. We appeal to all entrants that have not already contacted us to enter their floats, to do so as soon as possible.

All entry forms must be with us by the 10th of March. Looking forward to another fantastic Parade and God willing a fine day on La le Padraig and we thank everyone who continues to support this magnificent event.
