Maynooth based folk band launch new single.

Ireland’s Fiddlers Green are presenting a series of concerts with their first evening of folk songs and music at the Moat Theatre Naas on Saturday 14th September @ 8pm  to coincide with the release on the Chart Label of Ireland’s Fiddlers Green single – Slip Away – to radio and TV stations nationwide for general airplay. 

The song was introduced to lead singer Danny Carthy by (RTE’s Live at Three) Derek Davis, and the recording produced by Charlie McGettigan. The performance is a chance to present a live performance of the recording and also to introduce their vast repertoire of folk songs, with some of Danny Carthy’s original songs as part of the performance.

Keeping Irish folk singing alive is most important for the future of Irish folk culture, and it’s the intention of Ireland’s Fiddlers Green  to present the live performance as part of a renewal of old acquaintances from the folk pub days like the Hitchin Post Leixlip and Dowlings in Prosperous in the 1980’s and 90’s and also an induction for future new acquaintances. The quality of vocal and musical talent in Ireland’s Fiddlers Green is the essential ingredient for an excellent Irish night.

It’s also important to mention that the song Fiddlers Green was recorded by Danny Carthy and the original band, and can also now be heard on Ireland’s Fiddlers Green Facebook page with almost 160,000 hits and continually growing.
