An outline of the history of Newbridge and vicinity through maps and photographs,from the establishment of the cavalry barracks and Main Street in the years 1812-1820, the building boom of the 1850s and 1860s which followed the building of the Curragh Camp and led to the laying out of Eyre Street, Edward Street, Charlotte Street and Henry Street.

Also discussed will be the Dominican Friary, the Priory of Connal, the old village at Chapel Lane, the Moore and Eyre Powell families, the railway and its impact on the town, changes following the departure of the British Army in 1922, and the establishment of new industry which brought Newbridge back from the brink in the 1930s.
