District Doings.
In Naas and North Kildare.
***
Naas and Newbridge have been struck out of the course for the
motor race on the ground that there are awkward turns etc. on
the road. This allegation would no doubt pass muster were there
not still more awkward turns on portions of the roads yet included.
***
It is rather peculiar that it was not till the eleventh hour
the difficulties in regard to Naas and Newbridge were discovered,
and that, when the secretary of the Automobile Club came before
the County Council, no suggestion was made that anything of
the kind existed. It is doubtful, however, if any representation
on the subject would now avail, inasmuch as the change seems
to have received the necessary official sanction.
