DUBLIN MARKET AND THE MOTOR RACE.
An important meeting of the Committee of the Association was held on Thursday, Mr. Edward Kennedy, in the chair; also present: - Messrs Gavin Low, J.P.; R. Wilkinson, J.P.; Wm. Radcliff, J.P.; Wm. P. Delaney, C. Grimes, George H. Lennon, J.P.; Charles Bergin, Co.C.; John Curtis, V.P.; R. K. Tighe, James Ennis, R. Warren, P. O'Connor, John Kennedy, and Lorcan G. Sherlock, Secretary. Letters dealing with Mr. O'Connor's proposal to change date of Dublin Market during Motor Race week were received from - Messrs Wm. Field, M.P.; W. Russell, J.P.; John T. Byrne, P. Leonard, J.P.; E. Kelly, J.P.; P. Greaves, Co.C.; etc. After hearing the views of quite a number of salesmen and dealers and butchers, the Committee decided by a large majority not to make any effort to have the market-day changed as any alteration would cause enormous inconvenience and possibly great financial loss to many. The Committee were however of opinion that the market might be started early and the Railway Company affording facilities those who liked might transact their business first and then travel to see the race. Mr. Kennedy having left the chair Mr. Delaney was moved thereto.
