THE MOTOR RACE.
In connection with Mr. St. John's notice of motion to take into
consideration the question of providing accommodation for visitors
on the day of the Motor Race, Mr. St. John said he learned that
the police authorities had taken action in the matter, and were
making arrangements. It would be important that a sufficiency
of pure drinking water would be supplied for the vast crowds
that would be present. Chairman: Wouldn't you advocate mineral
waters and a little stimulant in them? (laughter). Mr. St. John
said they should request the military authorities to lend them
a dozen or so of their water cars.- No action was taken in the
matter.
