Disabled drivers disadvantaged - Bernard Durkan (Mar 20)

Disabled Drivers are seriously disadvantaged due to the current interpretation of the 1994 Disabled Drivers/Disabled Passengers (Tax Concession).

Hundreds of people are deprived of tax concessions in respect of specially adapted cars, which would enable them travel to and from work without employing the services of a driver, said Deputy Durkan.

It is a disgrace said Deputy Bernard Durkan, that despite repeated calls on respective Ministers to conclude the current review and broaden the eligibility of disabled drivers that the situation has not yet been resolved.
