Open Night for women in business

NEWBRIDGE, 21 March 2002: by Trish Whelan. The Kildare Branch of Network Ireland is holding an Open Night for women in business on Tuesday night next in the Red House.

The event is a ‘communicating and networking’ event and is being presented by Grainne Harte of MD Harte Communications. It begins at 8pm and is designed to provide tips for women in management on how to identify, manage and build their business and personal network.

There’s no charge, and a good social evening is guaranteed. Further information from 045 880732

The President of the Kildare branch, which was established in 1998, is Mary Fehily-Hobbs. “It is going from strength to strength, enabling members to assist and encourage each other to achieve more effective and satisfying careers,” she says. “Network recognises that there are equal opportunities in the workplace for a woman to achieve her goals, but she is more likely to have to compromise and make more sacrifices if she has a family. Her ability may be the same but her career path has more obstacles than a man. The issue of good quality childcare is something Network is lobbying for, this area has not been sufficiently well addressed nationally.

The programme of events for this year includes Toastmasters, Cookery Evening, International Womens Day Business Lunch, Art Evening, Golf Outing , Annual Business Lunch and a Complementary Therapies Evening.
