On December 2nd, 2015, Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O' Sullivan made an official visit to our school. Having recently announced that the new amalgamated primary school for Monasterevin will be constructed in 2017, she received a warm welcome from the principals of St. Evin's school and St. Peter's School along with the Steering Committee and representatives from each Board of Management. She was escorted by Senator John Whelan from the local area. The Minister was very keen to view the site for the new school which will be built on the grounds of St. Evin's School. She eagerly discussed the plans with Mr. Costello, Mr. Cullen and architect Mr. O' Hora. It was a memorable event for all concerned as we look forward to moving into our brand new 24-classroom building very soon.

Previously, the Minister visited our school on January 28th, 2015 to view the plans for the new amalgamated school. On that occasion the Minister spent much of her time chatting to the children about their school experiences and they eagerly answered all her questions.
