This win featured a sensational display from Captain Katie Devine, who scored six goals in the tie.
Kilcock started brightly and went on the attack from the tip-off they nearly took the lead. Shona Murphy played a great ball through to Derbhla Mulvihill whose shot was saved by the Kildare keeper. Celtic had another good chance when Niamh McCarthy broke down the left wing and her cross found Linda Byrne whose shot produced a fine save for the visiting keeper.

The home side took the lead when Devine played a one two on the on the edge of the box before firing home a great shot. They doubled their lead when Amy McGreal crossed to Katie Devine who fired home. Kildare nearly pulled a goal back just before half time but Kilcock keeper Donna Craig made a great save from the Kildare player. Kildare started the second half in determined fashion and were dominating the game. They almost pulled a goal back but Craig made another great save.

Kildare were now piling forward in search of a goal but couldn’t find a way past Sheena Byrne and Sarah O’Neill in the centre of the Celtic defence. The home side got their third when Charlene Moran broke out of defence before playing in Katie Devine who completed her hat trick with a superb finish. She added her fourth when she ran on to a Niamh O’Brien through ball before slotting past Town’s keeper. Devine then turned provider when she played in Derbhla Mulvihill who finished well. Kildare were now visibly tiring and the home side went on to score three more goals through Katie Devine with two and Derbhla Mulvihill.
This was an excellent performance by an improving Kilcock team with outstanding displays from Shona Murphy, Niamh McCarthy, Niamh O’Brien, Amy McGreal and six goal hero Katie Devine.
