Kilcock and Naas played out a scoreless draw in excellent conditions at Scoil Dara on Sunday morning last. Both teams had chances during the game to win it, but failed to score the goal which would have won it. See Match Report Section for full report!


Both teams had chances to score in the opening 20 mins of the game but failed to take them.
Celtic had good efforts from Shane Harris and Eoin Moriarty to open the scoring before half time but was unable to convert.
Naas also had a couple of chances but did not capitalise.

In the second half of the game both teams had numerous chances to score but again failed to hit the back of the net.
Kilcock best efforts came from Darren Gavin, Shane Harris and Eoin Moriarty.
Kilcock keeper David Staunton had to be at his best to keep the score level when the visitors created a number of chances. Kilcock had 2 great chances to score in the closing period of the game.
Firstly, Darren Gavin saw his effort blaze over the bar.  Secondly, Kilcock were awarded a penalty after 85 mins , but Alan O’Brien saw his penalty saved by the united keeper.

Both Kilcock Celtic and Naas United keep their unbeaten starts to the season in division four.
Best for Kilcock were forwards Shane Harris, Eoin Moriarty, midfielders Darren Gavin, Paul Doran, backs Dennis Glesson and keeper David Staunton
