Kilcock and Bridgewood playout 8 goal thriller. See Match Reports for full story!


A draw was a fair result as these sides played out an 8 goal thriller in Robertstown on Sunday morning last,
Kilcock opened the scoring after 20 minutes of the game, a long kick out by  the Kilcock keeper Robert Cox caught the Bridgewood defence out  and saw forward Eoin Moriarty get onto the end of this ball and his shot hit the back of the Bridgewood net to put Kilcock one up in this game.
Kilcock went 2-0 up after 30 mins when again a long kickout by the Kilcock keeper resulted in a Bridgewood player heading the ball into his own net.
However Bridgewood got a goal back after 40 mins from the penalty spot to make the score 2-1.
Kilcock went 2 goals in front again after 43 mins when Shane Harris was put through by Paul Doran and his shot put Kilcock 3-1 up.
However it was 3-2 just before the break when a mistake in defence allowed Bridgewood to score from 35 yards out. Halftime score Bridgewood 2 Kilcock 3

Just after the break another mistake by the Kilcock defence was punished again to make the score 3-3.
With only 15 minutes left in the game the visitors went back in front again. A corner on the left was headed to the back of the net by sub David Barhurst to put Kilcock 4-3 up.
However it was Bridgewood who got the last goal of the game when a free-kick from 25 yards out was saved by the Kilcock keeper but the rebound was shot home to the back of the Kilcock net by Peter Kelly.

Best for Kilcock were Dennis Glesson,  Eoin Morairty and Shane Harris.
