Cyprus death

Cpl. William Hetrington, who died in an English hospital as a result of an accident while on duty in Cyprus, was a native of Mountrath, Laois, and was stationed at the Curragh since he joined the Army in 1954. He was promoted Corporal in 1957 and was a well-known hurler. He played with three Curragh Command teams in All-Army finals. He was also a member of the County Kildare junior hurling team.
