Information Centres provide free confidential and impartial information
on any subject to anyone who asks. There is no charge for the service
and it is available to all sections of the community. Everyone has information
needs and therefore everyone is equally encouraged to use the service.
They
provide information on the following topics:
- Social Welfare
- Health services
- Redundancy
- Income tax
- Education
- Housing
- Family law
- Consumer affairs
- Local organisations
and activities.
They also help people
to get entitlements by helping them to fill in forms and if necessary,
they contact government departments or other agencies on their behalf.
In addition they help people who are appealing against decisions and
from time to time may even accompany them to appeal.
