Kildare HQ for 2002 Gordon Bennett

NAAS 13 May 2002: by Brian Byrne. The 90th anniversary rally to commemorate the Gordon Bennet Race will be based this year in Killashee House Hotel near Naas. The original race was in France in 1902, and was transferred to Ireland the following year.

Threat to block bypass

NAAS, 10 May 2002: by Trish Whelan. A call for local residents to block the Naas By-Pass has been made by Naas town councillor Mary Glennon, in protest at the EPA’s decision to increase the Waste Licence for KTK Landfill Ltd (above) from 220,000 tonnes a year to 275,000 tonnes.

GAA pitch space request put on hold

Exhibition in Naas Library

Parks money to cut grass

MAYNOOTH & KILCOCK, 9 May 2002: by Bill Trapman. Money from Kildare County Council's parks budget is to be used to cut grass in pen spaces in Leixlip and Maynooth. The areas involved are those where it is not feasible for residents associations to cut, including the Leixlip linear park, the Black Avenue and the approach roads to the town.

New primary school 'ready next year'

24-hour garda station comes closer

'No resources' for adequate dog control

Lakelands to get 'Residents Only' parking

Town council has waste skip problem
